Virginia Foote, PA-C, is a certified Physician Assistant at Richmond Gastroenterology Associates. Virginia practices out of the Midlothian Center office in Chesterfield, Virginia.
Graduating cum laude, she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Religion from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was one of the first two students in her program to complete a concentration in medical humanities. Afterward, she dedicated a year to clinical research at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston.
Remaining at MUSC, Virginia completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2013. While there, she also completed a Fellowship in Inter-professional Education Studies and was named one of two Presidential Scholars from her class.
Prior to joining Richmond Gastroenterology Associates, Virginia worked as an inpatient Physician Assistant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology for three years in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was also a Family Practice Physician Assistant on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
Virginia first discovered an interest in Gastroenterology when she was a student, and she spent two consecutive rotations with the GI group at MUSC.
She is an inpatient Physician Assistant, seeing acutely ill patients at Chippenham Hospital. Virginia works closely with Drs. Adam, Flynn, and Jindal, to deliver the best care for patients while they are in the hospital.
Virginia enjoys being a part of the process for patients and their families while they are critically ill, helping them overcome their illness, and coordinating outpatient follow-up.
She particularly enjoys diagnosing and managing the biliary tree, pancreas, and colon conditions. Virginia is passionate about promoting team-based healthcare and a patient-centered care focus and strives to help her patients understand their condition and treatment options.
Virginia was born in Miami, Florida, but lived most of her life in Charleston, South Carolina. She relocated to Richmond with her husband and two small dogs, joining Richmond Gastroenterology Associates in 2019. Virginia enjoys reading and baking, and spending time with her family.
